Gopal Khanna
Gopal Khanna is a serial transformational change agent. He has held senior executive positions in industry and government and has launched startup ventures. Gopal has championed AHRQ’s Digital Healthcare Research Program to produce and disseminate evidence about how the evolving digital healthcare ecosystem can advance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of healthcare for patients and their families. He has worked for two presidents and two governors in senior policy and leadership positions. Gopal has led enterprise transformation initiatives in federal and state governments, as well as in the private sector. He was a member of Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s cabinet and the state’s first chief information officer.
His experience, expertise and passion centers at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and data and analytics. Gopal's core philosophy is that change must be purposeful and that people within organizations need to have an unabashed customer orientation and consider themselves part of a higher cause. With the future in mind and practicing the art and science of “Transformation by Design” is how he helps others make an exponential impact.
Gopal is highly skilled at approaching enterprise-level problem solving from a vertical, horizontal, and borderless perspective. A pragmatic futurist, he drives transformational change as opposed to incremental change. He can come into an organization and say, "Give me an open mind, see things differently, and help lead the change." Gopal enjoys working with the behaviors of those who oppose change. He can open peoples' minds so that they too practice the "art of the possible."
